4 Sided Stitch

  • The four sided stitch traditionally should be pulled very tightly in order to open the fabric.  The stitches, when placed in the order indicated, pull the fabric in on itself to created the open, lacey effect.

  • DD - Blue Groper and Delica Bead 051 both have symbols with the number 4. This is more obvious on the color chart, but difficult to see on the black and white version.

Chart Error

  • The gap in the oysters is an error. Fill in with the same color and complete the backstitching in order to fill out the oyster.

Border Tips

  • In the border for parts 9-12, do not over pull the shell eyelets, or the rest of the border will become distorted.
